Defying The Odds: This Couple Got Pregnant Twice Despite Suffering From Vaginismus.

Eight years of marriage and the dream of having a child remained frustratingly out of reach for Mani and her partner due to vaginismus, a condition where the muscles around the vagina involuntarily tighten, making penetration difficult or impossible. This condition deeply affected their dream of conceiving a child, as traditional intercourse was not an option for them.

However, despite these obstacles, they succeeded in using the Applicator. This innovative approach allowed them to overcome the physical barriers caused by vaginismus, and the Applicator offered them a practical solution for painless conception.

Their story highlights the importance of persistence and exploring alternative methods when facing challenges while trying to conceive. By embracing innovation and seeking new solutions, Mani and her partner could realize their dream of expanding their family despite the obstacles posed by vaginismus.

Mani Shares How The Applicator Was Able To Help Her Get Pregnant Despite Vaginismus.

Interview responses were edited for clarity.

Q: Hi Mani, tell us a bit about yourself! How old are you and your partner? What do you both work as?

A: My name is Mani, I am 36 years old, and my husband is 37. I am Head of PR, working across diverse regions, and my husband also does business and handles the import and export of soft furnishings and lighting.

Q: Could you please share what has led you to want to start your own family?

A: My husband and I have been married for eight years. We met at university, and when we got married, we struggled with personal difficulties, such as the clash of personalities that led to our intimacy challenges. Ever since then, I’ve been going for counseling and using dilators to help me relax, but nothing has worked for us.

Q: Why did you start trying for a baby? How long have you been trying to conceive (TTC)?

A: At 35, I could feel the ticking of my biological clock, and I was lost on how to proceed with getting pregnant. My husband found the twoplus Applicator online. Still, I was initially hesitant because I didn’t know how I'd react if I became pregnant as a result of my fear of giving birth because of Vaginismus.

We decided to give the Applicator a try last summer. I began considering it in March 2023, and we purchased and were using it by around April - May 2023. However, our plans were put on hold when we contracted COVID-19 in June of the same year.

After recovering, we resumed trying in July and August 2023. I was surprised that we succeeded with the August attempt. I didn’t think it would happen, but when I did the pregnancy test, I was amazed at how such a simple instrument could help. My initial doubts were quickly replaced with gratitude and joy.

Q: What steps did you take to overcome your challenges with penetrative sex and conceive without traditional methods?

A: Due to my difficulties with penetrative sex, my husband and I weren’t actively trying to conceive. We pursued various avenues to address the vaginismus, including counseling, sessions with a women’s physiotherapist, and using dilators, but nothing worked.

We then shifted our focus to overcoming the challenge of getting pregnant without penetrative sex. After my husband discovered twoplus, we decided to try the twoplus Applicator for three months before becoming pregnant.

There was a long waitlist and queue for doctors in the UK due to our healthcare system, I wasn’t able to undergo specific fertility tests or receive a formal diagnosis from a licensed healthcare professional.

Q: What was the journey like after you got pregnant?

A: After using the applicator for the first time, I experienced spotting in the eighth week of pregnancy, which was concerning. A private scan revealed the pregnancy had stopped progressing around week five, leading to a heartbreaking diagnosis of a partial molar pregnancy, a condition when two sperm fertilize the egg at the same time.

We were concerned that our miscarriage was a result of our method of home insemination with the twoplus Applicator. Still, the doctor assured us that was not the case and the miscarriage could happen to anyone. We were given the all-clear to try again after medical management and monitoring at Sheffield Medical Centre. Dealing with vaginismus alongside pregnancy complications added another layer of challenge. Initially, we were extremely hesitant to restart our TTC journey as it was difficult. It took a lot of courage before I started to use the Applicator again. And…

Q: What else have you tried in your conception journey before using the Applicator?

A: I first tried another home insemination product, Tily Blooms, on Amazon. It was uncomfortable, so I tried the twoplus Applicator instead. The twoplus Applicator was incredibly comfortable — smooth and easy to use. The packaging impressed me even more — it was like a little present, adding to the overall great customer experience.

Q: Did you adopt any lifestyle changes to improve your odds of conceiving?

A: Despite considering fertility lubricant, I ultimately decided against using it both previously and during this attempt. I wasn’t very sure about its efficacy in our situation, so we proceeded without it. Instead, I focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle by eating nutritious foods and exercising regularly. While I didn’t engage in intense workouts, I prioritized activities that promoted overall well-being and supported our journey to conception.

Q: Would you recommend the twoplus Applicator to other people who may have difficulties with natural conception?

A: Yes – absolutely. It was so easy to use.

Q: What would you suggest to other couples trying to get pregnant?

A: The Applicator truly changed my life in ways I never imagined. With the challenges of vaginismus, I had resigned myself to the belief that I might never be able to get pregnant because traditional methods of conception seemed impossible.

Put all your worries to the side and just go for it. You don’t know what may happen.
