Alyssa Gave the Lowdown on Her Road to Parenthood With the Sperm Guide
Interview responses were edited for clarity.
Q: Hi, Alyssa! Tell us a bit about yourself! How old are you and your partner? What do you both work as?
A: I am 28, and my partner is 38 years old this year. We both work as civil servants.
Q: Congratulations on getting pregnant with the twoplus Sperm Guide! Is this your first successful pregnancy?
A: Thank you! Yes, it is.
Q: We understand you have been trying to conceive (TTC) for the past 5 months. If you don’t mind sharing, why did you start trying for a baby then?
A: We had gotten married in February 2022 and decided to spend a year on our own before having kids. So, we started to try for a baby in March 2023 after our one-year anniversary.
Q: What were the top 3 questions you had early on in your conception journey?
A: (i) If either of us had any fertility issues,
(ii) If our diet* and lifestyles were conducive for conception, and
(iii) If we were in any way disadvantaged by our ages.

Q: Could you share more about your fertility struggles as a couple before the pregnancy?
A: I contemplated consulting a fertility expert before trying to conceive but was unsure and unfamiliar with the process as I did not know anyone in my social circle who had done so.
We tried to conceive naturally before taking the next logical step, which was to use an app to track my fertile window and ovulation day for the next two months.
Finally, we decided to give the Sperm Guide a try after having seen the product and its reviews through Instagram.
Q: Were you diagnosed with any medical conditions relating to fertility by a licensed healthcare professional, and what tests did you do?
A: No. We did not go through any fertility tests.
Q: You’ve mentioned that you used the twoplus Sperm Guide twice in 1 cycle before you got pregnant. Did you use it during or near your ovulation day?
A: Yes, we used the Sperm Guide for the first time on the third day of my 7-day fertile window, and the second time on my ovulation day of the same cycle.
Q: Was the Sperm Guide easy to use? Was it uncomfortable after inserting, and did you have any trouble using the fertility tool?
A: It was easy to use after reading the instruction manual. It was slightly uncomfortable to insert as it was a foreign object, but subsequently, it felt fine as it did not hurt at all. We did not have any trouble using the tool.
Q: Did you adopt any lifestyle changes to improve your odds of conceiving?
A: No. My partner exercises regularly while I do so irregularly (a few times a month). We both try to watch what we eat but do not strictly refrain from any particular types of food. I get about 8 hours of sleep each night, while my partner gets about 6 hours.
Q: Would you recommend the twoplus Sperm Guide to other people who may have difficulties with natural conception?
A: Definitely! We are already thinking of sharing it with friends who have been trying to conceive for a few years.
We feel that this is a safer and cheaper option for couples before moving on to pricier alternatives such as IVF. There really is no harm in trying.
Q: If you could go back to the beginning of your conception journey, what would you have done differently? Also, what would you suggest to other couples who are trying to get pregnant?
A: I would put in more effort to learn about the different factors that could affect conception as well as research on alternative aids such as [at-home] fertility tools.
